To understand the ‘what’, we must first look at the ‘who’ behind what a Spiritual Life Coach is. A Spiritual Life Coach is a person who incorporates divine/universal laws into their daily life, in order to facilitate growth on all levels of their being (Emotional, Mental and Spiritual). The Spiritual Life coach is able to perceive beyond the everyday societal norms, and understand the deeper meanings of ‘why’, ‘how’ and ‘which way’. The Spiritual Life Coach is able to use their gifts to help others discover their true calling and unlock hidden potential. A Spiritual Life Coach can be thought of as a guide to higher spiritual knowledge that leads you to self-realisation and enlightenment.
What can a Spiritual Life Coach do for me?
One of the core focuses of a Spiritual Life Coach is to align their clients’ with their authentic and true self, often referred to as the higher-self or God-self. Combining practical and spiritual knowledge that promotes their clients’ mental, emotional and spiritual growth to take momentum the direction of their true life purpose. The Spiritual Life Coach is able to direct the student towards self-realisation, self-actualisation, and most importantly a deeper spiritual understanding of universal laws that transcend limiting beliefs and barriers. The Spiritual Life Coach sees the student as an equal and instructs each student in a totally unique way – this in turn allows the student to travel his/her own path, rather than in the footsteps of the Spiritual Life Coach.
The student is instructed in practical and spiritual applications, based on higher spiritual knowledge and the coach’s personal experience with Spirit. Below is a brief list of benefits a student can receive the guidance of a Spiritual Life Coach;
- Spiritual Growth
- Emotional & physical well-being

Spiritual Life Coaches often incorporate Life Coaching practices, and deepen this by combining it with deep spiritual knowledge/techniques. By choosing a Spiritual Life Coach, you get both a Life Coach and a Spiritual Mentor/Guru/Master.

What skills or qualifications does a Spiritual Life Coach need to have?
Spiritual Life Coaches come from all walks of life and like the student are still walking the infinite pathway, the difference being that the coach is usually much further along in their personal journey than the student. There are many independent schools that offer Spiritual Life Coaching Diplomas that take between 6 months to 3 years to complete. That said, there is no set standard or specific certificate that all Spiritual Life Coaches should have. Below are a few randomly selected disciplines that Spiritual Life Coaches may hail from;
- Religious Spiritual Life Coach

The list above is not exhaustive, or in any particular order. There are as many Spiritual schools of thought as there are people on the planet, as every person will interpret the meaning of the teachings offered uniquely. On a personal note, I would suggest that your chosen Spiritual Life Coach as already experienced their own Spiritual Awakening at the very least in terms of ‘qualification’.
How do I select a Spiritual Life Coach?
The most important aspect to consider when selecting a Spiritual Life Coach is if your Religious or Spiritual Faith is in alignment with your prospective Coach. A Spiritual Life Coach will understand that all Faiths are equally important, and will never try to invalidate your own Faith – even if it is the opposite to their own. If you are a religious person, then I recommend selecting a Spiritual Life Coach who has the same faith as your own. As an example, if you are a Muslim, it would make more sense to select a Muslim Spiritual Life Coach, that way you can be sure that the coach is likely to have a deeper understanding of the Faith you both share.
Regardless of expertise or Faith, it is important to make sure that you can comfortably connect with your Spiritual Life Coach on all levels. Many Spiritual Life Coaches offer a free initial consultation so that both Coach and Coachee can get a feel for each other. It’s important for both Coach and Coached to be able to connect and gain a mutual understanding, this ensures that real progress can be made.

I found this helpful because it makes the work sound practical as well as reflective. That balance is probably why this kind of support appeals to people who feel stuck.

It is good to see the concept explained in a way that feels grounded. A spiritual life coach can sound vague until someone shows how the support applies in everyday life.

Interesting take on integrating spirituality into daily life to promote overall growth. It’s intriguing how they aim to balance emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects—wondering how practical that is in everyday busy schedules.
